Ohio Brain Injury Screening Tool<\/h2>\n

Many individuals with a brain injury may not identify as someone with a head injury, nor may they have a formal diagnosis on their file.\u00a0 Sometimes a simple question like \u201cHave you been hit on the head?\u201d as opposed to \u201cdo you have a brain injury?\u201d may elicit a discussion revealing the type of information you are looking for.<\/p>\n

This Screening Tool by the Ohio Valley Center for Brain Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation can be helpful in outlining questions you can ask your client to determine if they have a history of brain injury and some information on how you can assist and refer them for support. \u00a0 If you suspect they may have a brain injury and are not sure how to proceed with support, contact:<\/p>\n

HELPS Brain Injury Screening Tool<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The original HELPS TBI screening tool was developed by M. Picard, D. Scarisbrick, R. Paluck, 9\/91, International Center for the Disabled, TBI-NET, U.S. Department of Education, Rehabilitation Services Administration, Grant #H128A00022. The Helps Tool was updated by project personnel to reflect recent recommendations by the CDC on the diagnosis of TBI.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
